Student - Set up 2FA with Authenticator App (requires a computer)

Follow the instructions listed on your computer and phone.  If you need detailed step-by-step instructions, continue with the steps below.

Step 1: Enroll and Set up

Click Here to Enroll in and Set up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)


  1. Enter your email address. ( or (
  2.  Note: If you have multiple Microsoft accounts ( for ext. at other schools) you may need to completely sign out of your account in order to sign into your Palm Beach State Microsoft Account.
  3. Click on Next.

  1. You will be redirected to the Palm Beach State sign on page.
  2. Enter your password.
  3. Click on Sign in.

Step 2: Download and Install Authenticator app from Google Play Store..

  1. From the Play Store, type in Microsoft Authenticator and click Install.

  1.  On your PC screen, click on Next.

Step 3: Configure the Microsoft Authenticator app.

  1. On the Microsoft Authenticator app, select Work or School account.

  1. Click on Allow Authenticator to take pictures and record video.

  1. Click on Next on the PC screen.

  1. Scan the QR Code on the PC screen using Microsoft Authenticator after accessing your Camera.
  2. Click Next.

  1.  A 6- Digit code will be generated by the Microsoft Authenticator app.

  1. Enter the 6- Digit code on your PC under Enter Code.

  1. You will be prompted to approve the notification sent to your phone. This is only to test that you are able to receive notifications.

  1. Click on Approve.

  1. You will receive the message "Notification approved".
  2. Click  Next.

Step 4: Configure Phone authentication.


  1. Enter your phone number.

  1. You will receive an automated phone call.
  2. Press on the # Key to authenticate after following the instructions.

  1. Click Next after the call is answered.

  1. Both phone and app authentications will be checked  once they are set up successfully.

6. Click on Done.


Note: If the Mail app on your mobile does not support MFA/2FA, it is recommended to use the Microsoft Outlook app to access your PBSC email.
